EON giving customers free ovens, fridges and appliances

A major energy provider is giving customers free ovens, fridges and appliances. The E.ON Next Energy Fund has been created to help customers, including Sainsbury's Energy, who are experiencing financial hardship and are struggling. There are two ways this can help, EON says: h elp with paying your electricity and gas bills through grants, or replacing appliances. It says: " Supporting you to become financially stable and more importantly, get you back in control of your finances." The energy firm said: "Providing a replacement appliance such as a cooker, fridge, fridge-freezer or washing machine if yours has broken or is in a poor condition." To be eligible for the award you'll need to pass a three-month Provisional Award Scheme - and be able to cover your average monthly energy use. "While you’re in the three-month Provisional Award Scheme, we’ll suspend any debt. "At the end of this, as long as all payments have been made, the debt will be cleared. "If you don’t keep up with the payments, the award will be withdrawn and the debt, together with any further debt which has accrued over the three months will remain." To get a replacement appliance that's more energy-efficient, such as a cooker, fridge, fridge-freezer or washing machine if yours has broken down, you'll need to get in touch with the Energy Fund. It said: "To complete your application, you’ll need to know your E.ON Next or Sainsbury's Energy account number. Depending on your circumstances, we may ask you to show us: "Proof of any benefits and/or tax credits received by any adults in your household of all household. "Proof of any illnesses in your household that have been diagnosed by a doctor or a medical professional. We’ll accept a letter, certificate, patient summary or medical summary from a doctor, a medical professional or a health worker. "Please note, all supporting evidence must be less than three months old with the exception of Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) annual benefit letters, for example, State Pension and Child Benefit letters. "All documents must clearly show name and address details as well as the amounts currently being received for the current tax year."
