SAGINAW, MI — Saginaw business owners are invited to showcase their enterprises at the upcoming “We Love Saginaw Businesses” Trunk or Treat Event, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Frank N. Andersen Celebration Park.
The free community event, now in its fourth year, will span 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot at 1830 Fordney. It is jointly hosted by the City of Saginaw, the Saginaw Downtown Development Authority, and the Saginaw Economic Development Corp.
Local entrepreneurs can register for a spot in the parking lot where they can park decorated vehicles and distribute candy and promotional materials to attendees, organizers said.
“We’re very excited to host this event again this year,” Kisha Smith, Saginaw Economic Development Corporation coordinator, said in a statement.
“This event continues to grow each year and has become a favorite activity for many local businesses. This trunk or treat provides our small business owners with a platform to promote their business and the chance to meet hundreds of local residents in one day.”
Smith said the event helps “connect our small business owners with the community and help local business owners ignite their business for the 2025 holiday season and into 2026.”
The expanded location at Frank N. Andersen Celebration Park provides more space for businesses to participate and for additional activities, organizers said. Families attending can enjoy a Kids Zone with various games and a Touch-a-Truck area featuring police, fire, and other city-owned vehicles available for children to explore.
Representatives from the Saginaw City Council, Saginaw Downtown Development Authority, and the Saginaw Economic Development Corporation plan to offer treats such as cider and donuts.
Steve Hensley, Saginaw Future Inc.’s community and economic development director, said the event will focus on local commerce: “We know there are several trunk or treat events taking place during this time, but we hope to make this event special. We wanted to host an entertaining event that celebrates our small businesses and all that we have to offer in our community.”
The registration deadline for businesses is Monday, Oct. 20.
