The tourist, a man in his 40s and originally from England, was left in critical condition following the alleged assault shortly after midnight on 21 August. He was initially taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment before being transferred to the UK. He has since passed away from his injuries. Advertisement A man in his early 20s was charged in relation to the incident, and appeared in court in August. He was subsequently remanded in custody with consent to bail under strict conditions, including that he sign on daily at Blanchardstown Garda station. In a statement this afternoon, gardaí said that the tourist “passed away in the UK on Saturday”. “As this matter is now before the courts this office will not be providing further information,” gardaí added.
