Al Ahli forward Ivan Toney has shown his admiration for Ghanaian drill music after a video captured him vibing to O’Kenneth’s hit track Agyeiwaa.

The clip, first shared on TikTok by Saudi-based Ghanaian barber @kgcut.kk, quickly spread across social media.
Seated comfortably as the clippers buzzed around his head, Toney could not resist joining in.
He nodded along to the rhythm, even singing parts of the chorus, much to the delight of the barber, who paused briefly to let his client enjoy the music.

Within hours of being posted, the footage went viral, sparking a wave of reactions from Ghanaians online. Many fans joked about his connection to Kumasi, the hub of Asakaa music.
@yaw_devil jokingly claimed Toney hailed from a suburb in Kumasi:
“This guy be Bantama dude aswear 😂😂😂”
@mrbosco_ shared a similar sentiment:
“Proper kumerican that 😂😂”
@__stanlee, on the other hand, observed a curious state of Toney’s hair:
“Your man dey bald o herh.”
@WoodsDarli77371 looked at the video from a musical perspective:
“Big win for Ghana.”
@Lankyboy_1 summed up with a popular anthem:
“Geng geng geng 🔥🔥🔥”
The moment reflects the growing global influence of Ghanaian drill.
Just three years after its rise, the Recording Academy has officially recognised Asakaa (Ghana Drill) as a Grammy-eligible genre in the new Best African Music Performance category.
This recognition cements Ghana’s role as the driving force of African drill, despite rival claims from neighbouring countries, according to iMullar.

Away from music, Toney, who ranks as one of the best penalty takers in the world, has also been making headlines on the pitch.
Since moving from the Premier League to Saudi Arabia, he has enjoyed a strong run with Al Ahli.
The 29-year-old helped the club lift last season’s AFC Champions League trophy and has started the new campaign brightly with five goals in his first five matches across all competitions, according to Transfermarkt.

In his latest appearance, however, he was kept quiet as Al Ahli settled for a goalless draw against Al Ettifaq, a side that featured former Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum, who once carried a Ghanaian surname.
