Engine’s ready! Classic cars set to cruise round Mallorca for special Halloween drive

Mallorca’s motoring enthusiasts will take to the roads this weekend as the Classic Car Club hosts its final drive of the year – complete with a Halloween twist. Expats in Spain and local car lovers alike can look forward to a spectacular display of gleaming engines and vintage design this weekend as the Classic Car Club Mallorca hits the road for its next club drive on Saturday November 1 2025. Organised by Stan Hunter, the event will also serve as an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to introduce the club’s new committee, with long-standing members Pam Gardner (President) and Stan Hunter (Secretary) officially stepping down from their roles. The gathering will begin at Amadip Esment Café Bar car park (Ctra Andratx, Salida 13, Palmanova, 07181) at 10.00am, where members will be greeted with complimentary coffee and croissants before the EGM starts promptly at 10.15am. Scenic Southwest route and social stop The day’s drive will set off at 11.00am, with cars departing at one-minute intervals. The route will explore the southwest of Mallorca, heading north from Palmanova through Calvià and Puigpunyent, before looping down via Andratx to reach the final destination – the Club de Vela Restaurant in Port d’Andratx. Drivers can look forward to a mid-morning coffee stop in Puigpunyent, where participants often gather to admire each other’s classic vehicles and enjoy the scenic mountain backdrop. At 1.30pm, the convoy will arrive at Club de Vela for a three-course lunch featuring Mediterranean favourites such as fried squid, Iberian ham, and a choice of roast beef, grilled salmon, or wild mushroom ravioli, followed by a mixed dessert platter. Wine, beer, and soft drinks are included until dessert. A celebration of Mallorca’s classic car community The lunch, priced at €40 per head, promises a relaxed social atmosphere with panoramic harbour views. Non-members are also welcome, subject to an additional €15 administration fee per car. Adding a touch of fun, drivers are invited to dress up in Halloween-themed costumes, with a prize for the best outfit – an annual highlight that adds a festive flair to the day. Residents and expats in Spain can still enjoy the spectacle as dozens of lovingly restored classic cars wind their way through the island’s most scenic routes. The Classic Car Club Mallorca has long been a hub for expats and locals who share a passion for motoring heritage. This weekend’s drive not only celebrates the end of another successful season but also marks a changing of the guard, ensuring the club continues to thrive under new leadership. Motorists and spectators alike are encouraged to look out for the convoy on Saturday morning – a moving showcase of Mallorca’s enduring love affair with classic cars and community spirit.
