Empower Africa’s youth through AI for job creation – Dr. Asie Ocansey urges African Leaders

H.E. Rev. Dr. Asie Kabuki Ocansey, Author and founder of Africa-US Presidential Forum has called on Africa to rise up in terms of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create job opportunities for the youth. Dr. Ocansey, speaking at a book launch during an international conference on Information Systems and Emerging Technologies at Ghana Communication Technology University, prayed that Ghanaian leaders would prioritize STEM education, enabling the country to harness the benefits of emerging technologies and create opportunities for its citizens. She emphasized the importance of investing in youth education and training them in AI, machine learning, robotics, and other emerging technologies to make them competitive in the job market. Rev. Dr. Princess Ocansey noted that Africa needs to create its own opportunities and not rely on foreign expertise, especially in the development of smart cities and tech hubs. Under Dr. Ocansey's leadership, has partnered with several universities in the US and Canada to provide scholarships and collateral-free loans to African students pursuing STEM education. The centre aims to support 10,000 African youth through a $1 billion fund. She call to action emphasizes the need for African leaders to prioritize STEM education and create opportunities for the youth to develop skills that can drive economic growth and development. By investing in education and entrepreneurship, Africa can change its fortunes and create a brighter future for its youth. Report by Bernard K Dadzie, Greater Accra Region
