Emmerdale icon 'killed off' in shock injury twist and it's bad news for Robert

Emmerdale viewers believe that a soap icon will be killed off in a shock injury twist, and it’s bad news for Robert Sugden. The Dales have been rife with drama recently, especially since the downfall of villain John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) last month. The army medic notably murdered Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), and then went on to abduct Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), keeping him captive in a underground bunker that was situated at his old family home. Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), John’s husband, eventually uncovered the grim reality of his husband’s actions, leading Robert (Ryan Hawley) to rush over to the cottage to rescue his ex from his evil brother. But in a startling twist, John grabbed Aaron and hurled them both off a cliff edge, leaving Robert speechless, reports the Daily Star . As Aaron remained hospitalised in a medically induced coma, John made his exit, before later coercing Caleb Miligan (William) into aiding his escape abroad. On Wednesday (October 1), Aaron was seen trying to piece his life back together after John’s exit, but his mum Chas (Lucy Pargeter) couldn’t hide her concern. “I’m worried about you love, and before you tell me not to be, I can’t help it okay. I’m your mum,” she expressed. “I’m a big boy though, mum. I can look after myself,” Aaron countered, to which Chas responded: “Yes, I know you can. It is your life. And yes, you are right, you should get to live it the way you want to.” Aaron then paid a visit to his ex Robert, who has been keeping his secret prison husband, Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill), under wraps. In an attempt to reignite their past relationship, Aaron expressed to Robert: “What are we waiting for, Robert? We can take it slow if we want, and if I need help or I need someone to talk to, then I’ll tell you and we can sort it out together.” He continued: “Life is so short… Why are we wasting time when we both know what we want? I want you and I know you want to be with me as well.” However, after the episode aired, Emmerdale fans voiced their concerns for Aaron, after he had forgotten his late sister Grace’s birthday. Speculation among viewers is rife that Aaron’s lapse in memory could indicate a serious brain injury, potentially leading to a tragic end for his character. One worried viewer speculated on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Sooo… Aaron forgets Grace’s birthday and can’t push a straw into his drink. Am I reading too much into it, or might that be related to his head injury?” Another chimed in: “Oh, it could be. I always said that falling from the cliff would leave some consequences on his health,” while a third said: “Oh god they better not kill him off!”. Sharing the same concern, another fan commented: “Oh no I won’t be able to cope if they do anything to Aaron. But the signs aren’t looking good.” Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX
