Emilie Kiser Shares Water-Safety Plea 6 Months After Son Drowned

Emilie Kiser, a popular lifestyle influencer, marked six months since the death of her son, Trigg, by sharing a heartfelt message urging parents to be vigilant about the dangers of accidental drowning. Three-year-old Trigg was found unresponsive in the family’s backyard pool in Chandler, Arizona, on May 12, according to authorities. He died six days later at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. At the time of the incident, Kiser’s husband, Brady, was home with Trigg and the couple’s newborn son, Teddy. In a Nov. 12 Instagram post, Kiser shared measures she believes could save families from the heartbreak of losing a child to a preventable tragedy. She encouraged parents to “watch your children at all times,” writing that “no amount of supervision is too much or ‘helicopter parenting.’” Kiser stressed the importance of physical barriers, advising families to install a pool fence — "not an automatic cover, not a net, a fence" — and to consider additional safeguards such as pool alarms, extra locks and automatic door closers. She also recommended swim lessons, including Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) programs, which teach self-rescue skills to babies as young as six months. “Please take every precaution possible around water with your children,” she wrote. “Drowning is quick and preventable.” Earlier in her post, Kiser reflected on the weight of her grief and the “worst moments” of her life. “I miss him with every fiber of my being. Every ounce of me yearns to hold him again. hug him again. tell him how special he is, and how much I love him. I miss his voice. his hugs. his smile. his laugh. the way he added a ‘k’ sound to any word ending with the letter ’s,'" Kiser wrote. She ended her message with a quiet expression of enduring love: “I miss him daily. I love him forever, and I hope I can spread even an ounce of the joy he gifted to us and everyone he crossed paths with each day.”
