Electric vehicles represent future of mobility, says INCOSE president

Electric vehicles represent the future of mobility due to their potential to reduce emissions, cut dependence on fossil fuels, and improve public health, said International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), India chapter, president Prasanna Ramamurthy on Friday (October 31, 2025). He was speaking at the inaugural session of a two-day conference on “Automotive and Electric Vehicles”, organised at PVP Siddhartha Institute of Technology (PVPSIT) as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of Siddhartha Academy of General and Technical Education. Mr. Ramamurthy said that the automotive sector plays a pivotal role in driving economic growth, innovation, GDP, and employment. The rapid expansion of the EV market, he noted, is being fuelled by government incentives and the growing availability of affordable models. CEO and founder of Efftronics India Ltd. D. Rama Krishna stressed on the importance of skilled engineers in designing and implementing solutions across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, healthcare, and technology. He urged students to continuously upskill to stay abreast of technological advancements and remain competitive. Former chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) J.S.R.K. Prasad said that the automotive and EV sectors hold immense potential, encouraging young engineers to seize opportunities to help India emerge as a global leader in the field. The event was attended by Siddhartha Academy president M. Rajaiah, vice-president V. Nagabhushana Rao, vice-chancellor of Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education P. Venkateswara Rao, Principal, Pro vice-chancellor Ratna Prasad, principal K. Sivaji Babu, Heads of the departments, faculty, and students.
