The Ghana police service in the Nkwanta south municipality of the Oti region have arrested eight teenage girls for breaking into a home and stealing over GHC20,000 in cash and other valuable items. Information gathered by this reporter indicated that, this is not the first time people broke into the victim’s house in his absence hence his identity unknown. This situation has raised concern among residents, who are now on high alert to protect their properties. The suspects, all students from schools in the Nkwanta South municipality are currently in police custody assisting investigation. According to the girls, they are part of a gang that has been monitoring the owner for some time now and broke in at the time he was not in the house during their school break time. Again, it has been reported that one of the suspects, who is currently at large with their parents, has benefitted from the theft, receiving approximately GHC2,000. The police are urging the public to provide any information that could assist with the ongoing investigation.
