CAIRO – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty Sunday discussed with Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar means of advancing relations between Egypt and Nigeria. During a phone call on Sunday, the two sides exchanged views on regional developments and issues of mutual interest. Abdelatty emphasized the strength of historic ties between Egypt and Nigeria as well as the growing momentum witnessed by cooperation in political, economic, and development domains between the two countries. He underscored the importance of leveraging the outcomes of his visit to Nigeria in July 2025 and his participation in the Egypt-Nigeria Business Forum. He emphasized the importance of utilizing capacities of both nations to strengthen bilateral cooperation in priority sectors including trade, energy, agriculture, infrastructure, mining, construction, and pharmaceuticals. Abdelatty praised ongoing exchange of expertise and capacity building through programs offered by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) and the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping, and Peace-building (CCCPA). Regarding the regional level, both sides reviewed developments in the African continent and stressed the importance of enhancing joint African action, amid the growing political, humanitarian, and transnational challenges. They underlined the significance of constant consultation and coordination within the African Union, in order to serve the interests of African peoples and strengthen regional peace and stability.
