EastEnders stars Elijah Holloway and Juhaim Rasul Choudhury tease shockwaves, fireworks, and tested friendships ahead

The Inside Soap Awards brought together the brightest stars in British television, and EastEnders cast members Elijah Holloway and Juhaim Rasul Choudhury had plenty to celebrate. With both actors at the centre of some of the soap’s most talked-about storylines, the future in Walford is anything but quiet.

In an exclusive chat with Metro on the red carpet, the pair opened up about what fans can expect in the coming weeks, from fiery twists in relationships to major tension bubbling in the Panesar household.

Since joining EastEnders, Elijah Holloway has quickly become a fan favourite thanks to his heartfelt portrayal of Harry Mitchell. From navigating complicated friendships to the promise of new romance, Elijah says the experience so far has been ‘an incredible journey.’

‘Lots of hard work, lots of exciting storylines. I’m really blessed to have been given the privilege to go on so many different storylines throughout this year. I’m really riding a high at the moment,’ he shared.

The actor’s enthusiasm was evident as he reflected on how much Harry has grown since his arrival. And while Harry’s been trying to forge a new path for himself, the road ahead may not be as smooth as he’d hoped.

One of the strongest connections in Harry’s life has been his friendship with Kojo, a bond that’s been put under increasing strain due to Kojo’s secret dealings with Ravi and Okie.

With fans still reeling from Kojo’s sudden collapse in The Arches, Elijah confirmed that there’s more to come between the two characters.

‘I think I can say that Harry and Kojo are going to continue to be friends. Their relationship is going to be tried and tested as it already is being tried and tested.’

Despite the tension, the actor made it clear just how much he values working with co-star Dayo Koleosho, who plays Kojo;

‘I love working with Dayo and I love the relationship that Kojo and Harry have. I think it’s really important to tell. They bring out the best in each other, and one may it continue. We’ll see.’

The evolving dynamic between Harry and Kojo is one of the more emotionally layered relationships in the Square right now, and with loyalty, secrets, and danger all in the mix, it’s clear there’s still plenty of story to tell.

Of course, fans are also closely watching Harry’s blossoming romance with Gina, a pairing that’s provided some much-needed light in recent months. But if anyone was hoping for smooth sailing, Elijah had a very EastEnders warning.

‘We’ll see, it’s EastEnders!’ he laughed. ‘The storyline we’re entering into at the moment is going to keep ramping up so we’ll see what happens. There might be turns and twists. I think you can just expect a lot of fireworks.’

Fireworks indeed. With Kojo’s collapse still fresh, and Harry getting increasingly tangled in Ravi’s world, it’s only a matter of time before the pressure starts to affect his relationship. Will Gina stand by him, or is Harry headed for heartbreak?

Juhaim Rasul Choudhury: ‘Shockwaves in the Panesar family’

While Harry and Gina’s story is heating up, so too is the action around the Panesars. Juhaim Rasul Choudhury, who plays Davinder “Nugget” Gulati, teased that trouble is brewing and it could change the dynamic of one of EastEnders’ most formidable households.

‘There’s a lot going on with Ravi right now with Okie and Harry Mitchell and affecting Kojo,’ he explained. ‘What happens sends a lot of shockwaves in the Panesar family, definitely.’

Though the Panesars have been presenting a united front in recent months, Choudhury hinted that stability won’t last much longer.

‘Right now the Panesars are quite united, strong, together, but there’ll be shockwaves in the family and it rocks them and they’re a bit dazed. It’s exciting.’

What’s Next for Walford’s Newest Generation?

Between Harry’s romantic complications, Kojo’s health scare, and the tension brewing among the Panesars, EastEnders seems set to continue its streak of gripping, character-driven drama. And for both Holloway and Choudhury, the coming months promise deeper storylines and even more explosive twists.
