Early voting starts this week; here’s what Staten Islanders need to know

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — In New York City’s general election on Tuesday, Nov. 4, Staten Islanders will have their chance to vote for mayor, public advocate, city comptroller, borough president and their City Council member. There will also be an election for New York Supreme Court 13th Judicial District and New York City Civil Court Richmond County 1st Municipal Court District. Voters will decide on six ballot proposals this election, including five New York City charter amendments aimed at streamlining housing development and modernizing city operations. Early voting for Staten Islanders begins on Oct. 25 and concludes on Nov. 2. For a full guide of 2025 elections in which Staten Islanders can vote, visit: https://www.silive.com/politics/election-preview/ The early voting schedule is as follows: Saturday, Oct. 25, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can find your polling site on https://vote.nyc/page/find-your-poll-site To vote in this election, residents must register to vote prior to Oct. 25. You can register as a voter at https://e-register.vote.nyc.
