Éamon Ó Cúiv does not rule himself out of Galway West by-election race as Independent Ireland confirms Noel Thomas as candidate

Former Fianna Fáil TD Éamon Ó Cúiv has said he has not made a decision “one way or the other” about running in the Galway West by-election, while local councillor Noel Thomas will contest the race for Independent Ireland. The victory of Catherine Connolly in the presidential election last week means a by-election will have to take place within six months of Ms Connolly taking up her new role next month.
