Eagles’ Lane Johnson Offers Important Injury Update

Eagles' Lane Johnson Offers Important Injury Update

Lane Johnson left the Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams in the first quarter with a neck and shoulder injury. He was unable to come back in the game, but the Eagles were able to come back and get the 33-26 victory. The Rams were kicking a game-winning field goal with no time left, but Jordan Davis blocked his second kick of the fourth quarter, and returned it for a touchdown.
The Eagles were down 26-7 at the start of the third quarter, but were able to make the big comeback as the stars stepped up for the team.
After the game, Johnson talked with reporters, and he said it was only a stinger and that he expects to be able to play next week.
When Johnson went out, the Eagles offense really struggled to do anything on offense the rest of the first half. After Johnson left, the Eagles were able to run 11 plays for -4 yards in the rest of the first half.
However, quarterback Jalen Hurts responded in a big way in the final 30 minutes, as he threw his first three touchdowns of the season in the comeback. Wide receiver A.J. Brown had a monster second half, after he struggled to get anything going in the first 2.5 games of the season.
While guys like Hurts, Saquon Barkley and Brown get the majority of the talk on offense, the case can be made that Johnson is as important of a player as there is on the Eagles offense.
During his career the Eagles are 104-55-1 when he plays, and only 15-23 when he misses a game.
Hearing Johnson say that he expects to be back next week is huge news for the Eagles. He is Hurts’ security blanket on the right side, and it allows him to play with plenty of confidence knowing defenders aren’t going to get to him.
The Eagles moved to 3-0 on the season, and it is another tough game in Week 4 . They travel to Tampa Bay to take on a Buccaneers team that is also undefeated after winning a crazy 29-27 game that saw them make a game-winning field goal at the end of regulation.
While it is still early in the season, these two teams appear to be among the best in the NFC, and this is the type of game that can determine home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
