EA Sports FC 26 version 1.0.2 patch notes: Low driven shots nerf, AI attacking improvements, more
EA Sports FC 26 version 1.0.2 update brings a major set of updates, mostly based on player feedback from the closed beta period.
In this patch, EA has targeted some of the most discussed gameplay mechanics, especially low-driven shots and AI attacking support, to ensure matches remain fair and competitive across Ultimate Team, Career Mode, and standard play.
Alongside mechanical changes, the update fixes notable bugs for Career Mode players, enhances PC display settings and controller responsiveness, and rolls out general stability improvements. Here’s a complete rundown of FC 26 version 1.0.2 patch notes.

Gameplay
The highlight of this patch is the nerfing of low-driven shots, which were highly accurate even with excessive power applied. EA responded by lowering the accuracy of these shots when taken with extreme power, making them far less reliable.
If you relied on the low-driven mechanic, managing the shot power is now more important. This change brings balanced scoring opportunities. If you’re still eager to maintain proficiency after this change, you have to pay attention to shot timing and use the right playstyle trait for low-driven attempts.
AI attacking patterns have also received a significant overhaul. Ultimate Team matches saw Wing Backs dropping deep in their own half, even when their team had possession, leading to wasted build-up. Now, wing they will maintain a higher starting position and contribute to forward progression when the ball is secure.
Additionally, wingers make more frequent attacking runs into the box, improving scoring opportunities and providing better passing lanes to midfielders. Defensively, CBs now stay more central instead of running wide when marking attackers. For those who set squads with low defensive depth, EA has refined the engine so that defenders don’t push too high.
Goalkeepers see improvements, particularly in manual “Be A Goalkeeper” mode. The user interface now has a dive indicator, showing the direction from which incoming shots approach, allowing for better reaction and positioning. EA will bring even more goalkeeper updates in the coming patches.
The latest patch ensures ball control feels more authentic and consistent, no matter the conditions. Ground passes are now more reliable. However, EA has made it difficult to execute passes, such as first-time driven ground balls taken at awkward angles, making them less accurate.
Ultimate Team
Ultimate Team has a variety of bugs fixed. Multiplayer match entry after accepting a Co-Op invite now works reliably, and player item portraits on the Squad screen return to proper alignment.
Additionally, stability issues that were seen after squad onboarding and initial viewing have been fixed to prevent game crashes or freezes.
General, audio, and visual
General updates, such as certain star heads, kits, and placeholder assets, have been visually improved, offering a more polished presentation. For PC players, tweaks to borderless display settings have been made to avoid performance loss, and several controller input bugs have been addressed.
