DYK Popular Congress Neta, Once In Trouble For Remarks Against Kangana Ranaut, Studied At THIS Lucknow School?

Admit it, passing by your old school always hits different. One glance, and memories flood back. The sight of familiar walls and grounds instantly rewinds the years, bringing back memories of friends, teachers and the carefree days of childhood. The same thing happened to Congress’ social media department head, Supriya Shrinate, who previously made headlines for her controversial remarks about actor Kangana Ranaut during the latter’s maiden election campaign from the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency in Himachal Pradesh last year. The controversy stemmed from a social media post that featured a photo of Kangana accompanied by an offensive caption. Taking to her Instagram account, Supriya Shrinate shared that she was in Lucknow for a half-day visit, during which she passed by her school, Loreto. She was swept away by vivid memories of her friends, teachers and classrooms, among other things. She reminisced about the chapel, basketball court, and, of course, their school’s little canteen, which served chola bhatura and buying “dosas from an aunty” who would only appear during recess. Supriya mentioned how her school helped her shape her values. “Loreto played an enormous role in shaping who I am today. My teachers encouraged questions, they made me inquisitive, I learnt to challenge the status quo, staying back after school to teach underprivileged children made me acutely aware of disparities early in life,” she said. She also couldn’t forget to mention the Class of 1996, who were just “inseparable”. She added, “We were one big family—hanging out together, inseparable. I think even until recently, I could recognise my batchmates’ handwriting at a glance. I’m immensely proud that some of my school friends remain in my closest circle even today. And when we are together, we go back to being a loud, noisy, giggling bunch of girls all over again!” “Loreto gave us all roots along with wings to fly,” she revealed, adding that she had never visited her school since passing out. But she promised to visit her school during her next visit to the city. “I know I will be flooded with memories – but they’ll all bring a big smile on my lips. I haven’t stopped humming our anthem ‘To East and West of that fair isle…’ ” she mentioned.
