The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has outlined 20 mental health conditions that could qualify you for up to £749.80 a month in Personal Independence Payments (PIP). PIP is a disability benefit designed for working-age adults who are living with an illness, disability or mental health condition. It comprises two components – a daily living rate and a mobility rate. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for one or both of these components. Payments are typically made every four weeks . If you qualify for both the enhanced daily living and enhanced mobility components, you will receive a total of £749.80 over this pay period. Eligibility for either one or both of the daily living or mobility components depends on individual circumstances, reports the Manchester Evening News . According to the most recent Government data from July 2025, there are 20 types of psychiatric disorders that could make you eligible for PIP. The data reveals that a total of 1,482,217 PIP claims were made based on various mental health conditions. Below is the comprehensive list of these conditions, including examples, and the number of active PIP claims associated with each condition as of July. This announcement follows an increase in PIP rates in April, in line with inflation. Every year, benefit rates rise in accordance with the inflation rate from the previous September. In September 2024, this was confirmed to be 1.7%, as per the consumer price index. PIP is one of nine benefits that the Department for Work and Pensions is legally required to increase each year.
