UDC, in a media release on Monday, said as part of Jamaica’s ongoing recovery, the corporation has prioritised the restoration of these public spaces to support both residents and visitors as it works to restore normalcy. “Our teams have worked diligently to conduct safety checks, remove debris and ensure that all facilities are secure and ready to receive patrons once again,” UDC said. “The UDC thanks the public for its patience and continued support as we carry out recovery works across the island. These re-openings symbolise the corporation’s commitment to national development, and the resilience and spirit of the Jamaican people.” At Harmony Beach Park, which will initially open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, UDC says it is creating a safe and welcoming environment for the Montego Bay community, a place to reconnect and recharge. In the coming weeks, visitors will have access to free internet connectivity through Starlink, as well as phone charging stations, allowing families and community members to stay connected during this period of national recovery. UDC says the reopening of Dunn’s River Falls and Park and Ocho Rios Bay Beach marks a significant step toward the return of normal operations within Jamaica’s tourism and recreation sectors.
