Theft: Mayfield Road
A Dunkin Donuts manager reported Oct. 1 that an employee stole money from a cash register four times during two shifts while working the drive-thru window.
She had discovered the employee pocketing an estimated $526 while reviewing surveillance video.
She said that the employee did not report any shortages those nights because he claimed that he was afraid of losing his job.
Officers tried unsuccessfully to contact the man, 19, who had since been fired from the business.
Traffic stop: Winston Road
Officers stopped a vehicle with expired plates Sept. 27 and found that the driver had a suspended license and two active warrants for driving under suspension.
The Lakewood man, 29, was arrested on the warrants and cited once more for driving under suspension.
Suspicion: Eastway Road
Around 2:30 a.m. Sept. 28, a resident reported that several juveniles tried to break into her car at her home.
Officers checked the area and subsequently found a vehicle driving without its headlights. When they stopped it, two girls fled from it on foot and the driver drove away at a high rate of speed.
The girls, 15 and 16, were caught and arrested, and the driver was later arrested after University Heights police found the vehicle. He was found to be a 16-year-old resident of that city.
All juveniles were released to their parents and will be charged in juvenile court.
Fraud: Cedar Road
A Jersey Mike’s employee reported a potential scam Sept. 30 that occurred while she was at work the previous night.
She said that a caller, claiming to be a manager and giving a correct name, asked how much money she was depositing into the safe and if anybody was around her. She was then asked to remove $236 from the safe and take it to a Walgreen’s in the city.
Suspicious, the employee said that she contacted another manager and was told that she would not have been asked to remove money from the safe.
She added that her subsequent Uber ride was scheduled to first stop at Walgreen’s and when it did, she noticed a vehicle parked there with tinted windows. She did not exit the Uber vehicle and proceeded to be taken home.
The incident was documented.
Harassment: Greenvale Drive
A resident said Oct. 5 that her ex-boyfriend was harassing her through text messages.
She only asked that the matter be documented in case of any further problems with the 36-year-old man.
Impaired driving: Mayfield Road
Upon a traffic stop for erratic driving at 2:12 a.m. Oct. 4, the driver admitted that he had been drinking Long Island Iced Tea earlier.
The Euclid man, 51, was arrested on an active warrant with the sheriff’s office and returned to the station, where he took and failed sobriety tests and was charged with OVI. He was subsequently turned over to county deputies on the warrant.
Found property: Mackall Road
A resident turned in a cell phone that she found under a seat in her vehicle Sept. 27.
She said that the vehicle was parked at her home, was locked and nobody had access to it.
Officers tried to determine who owned the phone, but it came back as belonging to a deceased man.
