    Duke gives HC Jon Scheyer huge vote of confidence with latest move

    He’s also turning blue-chip recruits into first-round picks in the NBA Draft. In June, the Dallas Mavericks took Duke forward Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 draft.

    The Blue Devils lost to the Houston Cougars 70-67 in the national semifinal last season after Flagg missed a mid-range jumper near the end of the game. However, they should be a championship contender again this upcoming season.

    According to 247 Sports, the Blue Devils have the No. 1 recruiting class in the country. As of Thursday, FanDuel Sportsbook gives them the third-best national championship odds (+1100) behind Houston (+1000) and the Purdue Boilermakers (+900).

    Duke’s belief in Scheyer seems warranted. He could clearly lead the school to its first national title since the 2014-15 season.
