It will require you to head to The Asphodel and talk to Shirley whenever you’re ready to kick this off. An archaeologist, she’s confused about passion, and what, if anything, it has to do with her studies. This leads to a lengthy discussion.Prompt #1:Stat ChangeI am just an archeologist! Passion has nothing to do with my studies!Answer 1: Passion is the will to unravel what you really want.3 BenefitAnswer 2: Passion is the force that sustains life itself.3 WisdomAnswer 3: Passion is the unspoken that hides from the light of day.3 ChaosYou can pick whichever answers suit you, or whichever ones have the stats you need/want, as far as Impression Points go. No matter what you answer for the first question, you’ll be asked if you can help her get what passion really means. If you say yes, The Greed Beneath the Sand kicks off in earnest in Duet Night Abyss.Shirley will give you a few topics, as far as academic reports go, and ask which one of these you’d like to read. This will offer you another couple of choices, which you can see below:Prompt #2:Stat ChangeWhich would you like to read?Answer 1: For an academic report, it doesn't really sound that academic.3 ChaosAnswer 2: Tell me...Has any of your work to do with true archaeology?3 EmpathyYou have to make this check to keep going (Image via Hero Games)The third prompt will only give you one choice, and that will reward you with +3 Morality. It also goes a ways to explain to us why the investor in her work feels no passion for her subjects. However, before you can go any further, you’ll need to meet an Impression Check: Morality, Difficulty 55. Success will give you 2x Secret Letter Clues, 2,000 Coins, and let you continue The Greed Beneath the Sand in Duet Night Abyss. If you fail and can’t try again, you can come back to this side quest later. After the Impression Check, you’ll get one more chance at some free Impression points from Shirley. She’ll ask you to take her around and help her find some inspiration for her work.Prompt #3Stat ChangeHow about...you take me around and see if we can find some inspiration.Alright, let's see if we can dig up some inspiration for you.3 EmpathyPay up and I'll help you brainstorm.3 BenefitYou came to the right person. You should have at least one fast travel location in the sewers. For me, it was Depths of Icelake Sewers. Press the buttons necessary to Navigate, and it will pull up the sewers map for you.The sewer exploration isn't hard, and there shouldn't be any terrible fights (Image via Hero Games)Make your way to Shirley in the Icelake Sewers, and defeat any Filthoids you happen to see along the way. Depending on what fast travel you pick, there are a number of ways to get to her, so just follow the map, and chat with her. She’ll also tell you some interesting facts about the Hyperborean Empire and the sewers while chatting with her. However, it’s not exactly what she was looking for, in terms of inspiration. The next stop on this Duet Night Abyss side quest is the City Walls! Leave the sewers, and get ready for the next step.3) Get atop the City Walls with Shirley for New IdeasThe roof is just a hop, skip, double jump, and climb away (Image via Hero Games)When you leave the sewers, look to your right, and climb the closest building. It’s relatively easy to wall jump up, and there’s even a pipe you can briefly rest on. Get up there, then run over to the quest marker for Shirley, which is incredibly close by. She also reveals her fear of heights during this next conversation. You’ll also have another dialogue choice, with some Impressions points that you can pick up:Prompt #4Stat ChangeHow blind I was! Wait, could you be the true hidden archaeology master in Icelake?I was hoping to keep a low profile...3 ChaosI'm just an ordinary Phoxhunter passing by3 MoralitySpare me your flattery. My reward, now.3 Benefit4) Return to the Icelake City Gates and talk to ShirleyWith that, all you need to do is claim your rewards (Image via Hero Games)After the previous conversation, you’ll need to Return to the Icelake City Gates and talk to Shirley.
