DStv Subscribers to Get 33%–50% more value at no extra cost

Ghanaian DStv customers will soon enjoy significantly more value for their subscriptions at no additional cost, following a new agreement between the government and MultiChoice Africa.
Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, announced the initiative at a press conference in Accra on Monday, September 29. He described the arrangement as an “unprecedented increased value offer exclusively for Ghana,” which gives subscribers between 33% and 50% more value depending on their package.
“This ensures that Ghanaians enjoy enhanced services without paying extra. It is MultiChoice’s direct response to subscriber concerns in Ghana, and the offer is unmatched elsewhere on the continent,” the Minister stated.
Under the new plan, which takes effect October 1, 2025, customers will automatically be upgraded to higher-tier bouquets while continuing to pay their current subscription fees:
Pady (GH¢59): Upgraded to Access (GH¢99) with 35 extra channels — 40% saving.
Access (GH¢99): Upgraded to Family (GH¢190) with 19 extra channels — 48% saving.
Family (GH¢190): Upgraded to Compact (GH¢380) with 22 more channels, including live football — 50% saving.
Compact (GH¢380): Upgraded to Compact Plus (GH¢570) with 12 more channels — 33% saving.
Compact Plus (GH¢570): Upgraded to Premium (GH¢865) with 18 more channels — 34% saving.
For Premium customers already paying GH¢865, the package remains unchanged. However, they will be entered into a special promotion to win fully paid trips to selected English Premier League matches.
Mr. George stressed that the upgrades apply to all customers nationwide, both new and existing, without restrictions on bouquet selection.
“This initiative is designed to deliver better value for money while addressing long-standing consumer concerns,” he added.
