Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam George, has revealed that MultiChoice Africa will roll out an exclusive value upgrade for Ghanaian subscribers starting October 1, 2025.

“Subscribers will get between 33% to 50% more value depending on their package,” he said. “For example, those on the ‘Padi’ package paying GHS 59 will be automatically upgraded to the ‘Access’ bouquet worth GHS 99, gaining 35 extra channels a 40% savings.”
Sam George additionally announced a multi-agency crackdown on cross-border piracy of DSTV decoders from Nigeria into Ghana, citing its impact on tax revenue, job losses, and the decline of local content creation.
“This piracy has transferred jobs from Ghana to Nigeria, denied customers proper service, and undermined our creative industry. We’re forming a working group with key agencies to tackle this comprehensively.”
The group will include representatives from the Ministry, National Communications Authority, Cyber Security Authority, Ghana Revenue Authority, Ghana Police Service, and MultiChoice Africa and Ghana, among others.
