Ahmedabad: A disturbing incident has been reported from the Halol-Shamlaji state highway in Mahisagar district, Gujarat, when a car driver allegedly hit a biker and dragged him for three to four kilometers. The police have arrested the accused car drivers, who were reportedly drunk at the time of the incident. A video is going viral on social media, showing the accused car dragging the two-wheeler along with the bikers. The impact of the accident was so severe that both vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged. According to the police, the bikers from Dahod district were injured in the incident. One was admitted to Lunawada Civil Hospital and the other to Vadodara Civil Hospital, with both reported to be in critical condition. The Bakor police arrived at the scene, detained the drunk driver, and seized his vehicle. Both the driver, Manish Patel, and his brother, Mehul Patel, who was riding the bike, were reportedly in an inebriated state, the police said. Preliminary investigations revealed that Manish Patel hails from Lunawada taluka and works as a teacher in Vadodara. The Bakor police have arrested the two brothers and are carrying out further investigations.
