Drunk driver expresses desire for officers to contract herpes and die: Richmond Heights Police Blotter
RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio
Impaired driving: Highland Road
A Richmond Heights man, 21, was arrested for OVI after officers stopped his vehicle for a headlight violation around 2 a.m. Sept. 17.
A gun and open bottle of tequila was located inside his vehicle, leading to additional charges for possession of an open container and having a weapon while intoxicated.
When he was being booked into jail, he told officers that he hoped they would die and that he wished for their partners to contract herpes.
He also suggested that the entire community hates him.
Psychiatric situation: Harris Road
Officers conducted a welfare check on a resident who left a concerning message with dispatchers Sept. 16.
The man was rambling but indicated that his ex-girlfriend and others were preparing tactical charges against him.
He indicated that officers did not come to his home, he would come to them.
Officers contacted the man and he said he would come to the station later to discuss the matter.
Reports indicate that officers are familiar with the man and that he has mental health issues.
Theft: Monticello Boulevard
A man was arrested for theft from CVS and banned from the store Sept. 15.
He had stolen $138 worth of merchandise.
Unwanted guest: Chardon Road
A man, who had previously been banned from Dollar General, returned to the store Sept. 17 and was recognized by the staff.
Officers arrested the man, 69, for trespassing and noted that he is homeless but frequents the area.
Suspicion: Highland Road
On the way to check on a residential alarm at 5:20 a.m. Sept. 18, officers noticed a car with its lights on in a neighboring yard.
After clearing the alarm call, they checked on the vehicle and found that it was in the front yard next to a tree. The driver was passed out and surround by several open beers. He later told officers that he had drank five beers and was coming from his uncle’s home.
The Warrensville Heights man, 20, was subsequently arrested for OVI.
