‘Driving force’- Alan Shearer backs Tottenham star to become the ‘top dog’ at N17 following a strong start to the season
Alan Shearer backs Mohammed Kudus to leave a telling impact at Tottenham Hotspur
Signing Mohammed Kudus from West Ham is certainly one of the best bits of business Tottenham have done in recent years. The Ghana international became the first player to make the switch from the London Stadium to N17 since Scott Parker in 2011. And it is fair to say that the 25-year-old did not leave the West London club on a positive note.
Kudus’ brilliant start to the season for the Lilywhites is surely going to sting West Ham fans more than anyone else. The prolific winger has already produced game-changing moments for Spurs in his short time at N17, helping the North London club win four of their opening six games of the new campaign.
The Ghana international has not yet managed to get on the scoresheet for the North London club, but he has more than covered it up by providing four assists in the Premier League. His latest contribution came against Brighton in the league, where he grabbed two assists and helped Spurs come back from 2-0 down to secure a 2-2 draw away from home.
Mohammed Kudus backed to be a success at Tottenham
Tottenham’s summer signings have hit the ground running and helped the club climb up to third in the Premier League table. Almost every player has managed to play a significant part in helping the Lilywhites endure a brilliant start to the season. But one player that has stood out more often than not is Mohammed Kudus. The new Spurs recruit already looks like a bargain, performing consistently week in week out.
Alasdair Gold shares the same sentiment as well and believes the Ghana international has all the credentials to become a star at N17. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Gold said,
“He is a huge threat to Spurs and if Thomas Frank can improve Kudus’ decision making in certain moments, then he could be the star man this season. He could absolutely be the top dog in this team in terms of what he could produce because he’s got everything in his game to be a massive driving force. And he’s just impossible to knock off the ball.”
Alasdair Gold suggests that Mohammed Kudus can become a superstar at N17 if he just improves his decision-making in certain moments. The reliable journalist believes Kudus has everything in his locker to be the main man for Tottenham, and a few changes to his game will help him become the ‘top dog’ in the team.
Spurs fans might also have noticed that Kudus tends to overcomplicate things while playing on the right-flank. The 25-year-old gets the better of his man almost every time and comes into great crossing positions, before backing out and giving opposition players time to come back into position. This is something that Thomas Frank should look to address and improve if he wants to take Kudus to the next level.
