DENVER (KDVR) — A man was arrested over the weekend after police said he allegedly shot at another driver in a "road rage incident" on U.S. 36, leaving Boulder and heading toward Denver. On Saturday, around 5:47 p.m., the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said the driver of a white Toyota Corolla reportedly pulled out what appeared to be a gun and fired a shot, shattering the driver's side window of a white Ford Fusion near McCaslin Boulevard. The sheriff's office said the Corolla kept driving toward Denver on U.S. 36 when the driver of the Fusion contacted the Broomfield Police Department. The driver of the Fusion had minor injuries after the suspected gunfire shattered the window. At this time, it's unclear how the road rage incident started, and if the drivers knew each other. The sheriff's office took over the investigation since it was within Boulder city limits, and on Sunday, investigators found the Corolla at a Boulder apartment complex in the 3500 block of Nottingham Court. Through surveillance and other investigations, an arrest warrant and a search warrant for the apartment were obtained. Cameron Michael Jackson, 35, was taken into custody on Sunday night, and the sheriff's office said he is facing charges of second-degree assault, menacing - intimidation - weapon, and criminal mischief. The Boulder Police Department SWAT team helped with the operation since Jackson was within city limits. Because this is an ongoing investigation, the sheriff's office said it won't be releasing Jackson's booking photo at this time. The sheriff's office is asking anyone who witnessed or has information about the incident to contact detectives at BCSOtips@bouldercounty.gov or 303-441-3674.
