A Dragons’ Den star whose product was hailed as ‘life-saving’ is now worth £1million after receiving three separate investments.

Dr. Samuel Bailey appeared on the BBC series tonight seeking investment from Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman, Steven Bartlett and Sara Davies.

Presenting his AI device that protects elderly people from dangerous fires, the West London inventor asked for a £100,000 investment for 5 per cent of the company.

His product, called Pippa, is a stove alarm that monitors cooking hazards and uses an intelligent temperature sensor and AI-powered thermal imaging.

If food begins to burn or you forget to turn the stove off properly, Pippa will alert your mobile device so that you can prevent a fire before it is about to start.

Dr. Bailey claims that the device acts up to four minutes quicker than a regular smoke alarm, giving residents an added layer of protection.

Following his business pitch, each of the dragons seemed to be very impressed with the inventor.

After Peter offered to invest £100,000 not just in the Pippa product but Dr. Bailey’s Skyrad company, Steven went on to heap praise on the business creator.

‘This is interesting. You can not only prevent hazards but you can also help people, as this technology develops, cook better.’

Peter added: ‘I genuinely think that you are clearly a very skilled creator and inventor, and it would be so much more interesting to be a part of all your products, rather than just this one.’

As Peter, Deborah and Touker started to offer Dr. Bailey money, Sara congratulated him for his work.

She said: ‘You’ve created a brilliant product that can genuinely make a difference and save people’s lives… You’ve got some fantastic offers.’

Following a tricky period of negotiation, eventually, Dr. Bailey was able to convince Peter, Deborah and Touker to each invest £50,000 for 5 per cent of the company each.

Speaking to the camera afterwards, he said: ‘That was excellent. I’m really pleased with that.

‘Having three dragons involved is really, really helpful. The fact they were so enthusiastic about it is just brilliant.’

This comes after another Dragons’ Den star turned a £60,000 investment into a £36million business.

Sam Jones appeared on the programme in 2021 to present his data control company Gener8, which he founded in 2018.

Now four years later, his company has grown by more than 500%.
