One of Ghana’s finest entrepreneurs and the Chief Executive Officer of Maxwell Investments Group (MIG), Dr Maxwell Ampong, has been honoured with the ‘Promising Entrepreneur of the Year’ Award at the just-ended 8th edition of the Ghana Business Awards, on 24th October 2025, held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra. The tremendous recognition highlights his outstanding leadership in transforming the firm from a Ghanaian startup into a Ghana Free Zones Company recognised for enhancing national economic resilience through foreign exchange repatriation and value-chain transformation. To the awarding board, the honour authenticates his continuous growth and contribution to the Ghanaian economy and also sets a benchmark for others to follow. Dr Maxwell Ampong exemplifies visionary, sustainable, and inclusive leadership, making him deserving of the award, according to the event brochure. The Ghana Business Summit and Awards is the nation’s premier platform for thought leadership, market linkages, and recognising outstanding Business Excellence. This year’s event was on the theme, “Creative Economy Revolution through Innovative; Redefining Ghana’s GDP Landscape.” Speaking to the media after receiving the all-important honour, Dr Maxwell Ampong reiterated that “the Lone Genius is a myth” and thanked his dedicated team who work tirelessly to “create and build upon structural frameworks that make entrepreneurial ventures sustainable and efficacious”. According to him, the honour reflects the quality and unique dedication of his team as they continue to build what they call “The MIG Ecosystem”, a network of companies across sectors in agribusiness, logistics, finance, education, tourism, insurance, technology, and more, all operating independently yet interconnected for collective impact.
