Dr. Bawumia is a modern leader with a digital vision for Ghana – Rex Asanga

Former Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Rex Asanga, has expressed strong confidence that Ghana can achieve technological and economic progress comparable to China if former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia becomes president in 2028.

Speaking on A1 Radio, Mr. Asanga described Dr. Bawumia as a “modern leader” with a deep appreciation for how technology can transform nations.

He argued that, unlike other leaders who pay little attention to innovation, Dr. Bawumia’s digitalization agenda has the potential to create jobs, improve agricultural productivity, and strengthen crime prevention.

Drawing lessons from a recent trip to China, Mr. Asanga highlighted the role of technology in governance and law enforcement. He recounted an incident where Chinese police used surveillance footage to immediately determine fault in a traffic accident.

“In China, there is not a single place where a crime is committed without video evidence. The people are very obedient because the system works,” he explained.

Mr. Asanga maintained that Ghana needs a leader who can replicate such technological discipline and efficiency.

“Dr. Bawumia represents that future. With his vision for digitalization, Ghana can overcome long-standing challenges and build a modern, law-abiding, and innovative society,” he stated.
