Dozens of Logan flights cancelled as of Tuesday morning

Airlines have cancelled dozens of flights to and from Logan Airport as of Tuesday morning, as lawmakers in Washington seem poised to resolve the shutdown that has upended air travel nationwide. Flight tracking platform FlightAware documented 68 total inbound and outbound flights cancellations at Logan by 9:21am, accounting for about 6 percent of the airport’s air traffic in both directions, according to the site. Several dozen more were delayed. The Federal Aviation Administration last week ordered a reduction in flights across 40 of the nation’s busiest air travel hotspots, Logan among them, starting at 4 percent and eventually reaching 10 percent by Friday. Federal officials described the mandate as a bid to ease stress on the nation’s short-staffed and unpaid air traffic controllers. Members of the House of Representatives are reconvening in Washington to vote on the funding bill. Jaime Moore-Carrillo can be reached at jaime.moore-carrillo@globe.com.
