GREENVILLE — The Main Street restaurant Foxcroft Food and Wine announced it would serve its last customers Halloween night. The announcement comes in the same week that Mr. Crisp — an elevated seafood restaurant in the Overbrook community — said it would close as well. Foxcroft has five locations across North Carolina. Greenville was the restaurant’s only South Carolina location. Steps from Falls Park, the Greenville location specializes in wine, small plates, flatbreads and pasta. Less than two months ago, the restaurant changed its name from Foxcroft Wine Co. to Foxcroft Food and Wine, saying it had “grown into our next chapter.” No reason was given for why it was now closing. No one at the restaurant was immediately available for comment. “We’re so grateful for the memories, the support, and the shared glasses of wine over the years,” the business wrote on social media. Just five days before Foxcroft’s announcement, Mr. Crisp also announced it would close in November. Mr. Crisp opened three years ago to great fanfare, the creation of James Beard-nominated chef Greg McPhee. McPhee headed the popular restaurant The Anchorage in West Greenville as well, but he recently left both restaurants. In its announcement, Mr. Crisp did not provide a reason for its closure.
