DETROIT – The Downtown Detroit Markets have returned to Cadillac Square for the holiday season. The majority of this year’s pop-up vendors are Detroit-based and BIPOC- or female-owned businesses, offering retail, gifts and artisan goods. They will be open through Jan. 4, 2026. “The Downtown Detroit Markets have become a holiday tradition,” said Darnell Adams, Vice President of Detroit Community Initiatives, Gilbert Family Foundation. “It’s about more than shopping – it’s about uplifting Detroit’s entrepreneurs and celebrating the heart and hustle of our city.” This is the eighth year of the holiday markets, which have helped support more than 145 small businesses, generating nearly $6 million in sales, according to a news release from the Gilbert Family Foundation. The markets are funded by the Gilbert Family Foundation and managed by the Downtown Detroit Partnership, with support from Bedrock. Each vendor this season will receive $1,500 in business support during the market season and an additional $1,500 after the holidays - for coaching and financial support. TechTown Detroit, Wayne State University’s entrepreneurship hub, provides personalized training and mentorship to help vendors optimize their operations and visibility throughout the holiday season.
