Dor Turgeman begins his Revolution tenure with finishing touch

FOXBOROUGH — Revolution forwards have struggled to provide a finishing touch for most of the season. Dor Turgeman did just that only 15 minutes into his debut as a substitute in a 2-0 victory over Atlanta United before a crowd of 25,790 on Saturday night.
Turgeman took a pass from Carles Gil, then easily outmaneuvered Stian Gregersen to fire a left-footer past reserve goalkeeper Jayden Hibbert in the 72d minute. Three minutes later, Turgeman ran on a Matt Turner outlet pass and went three-quarters of the field before finding Leo Campana, who one-timed a right-footer for his seventh goal of the season.
Unfortunately for the Revolution (9-15-8, 35 points), Turgeman, 21, arrived on a $5 million transfer from Maccabi Tel Aviv after they had been eliminated from playoff contention.

Campana has been limited to 18 starts due to injury and international duty. While the Revolution were hoping to rally this month, Campana missed action to travel to World Cup qualifiers with Ecuador (which clinched a 2026 berth in June), then was injured during training with La Tricolor.
“I think we [Campana] have good chemistry together,” Turgeman said in Hebrew, translated by teammate Ilay Feingold. “We match each other well, and I hope that we will do good things together in the future.”
Other current Revolution players to score in their debut include Luca Langoni (last year) and Gil (2019).
Atlanta (5-14-12, 27 points), on its sixth coach (Ronny Deila) since Tata Martino guided it to the 2018 MLS Cup title, is experiencing its worst non-COVID season.

More from Pulisic
US forward Christian Pulisic upped his goal total to four, and also set up Alexis Saelemaekers, as AC Milan edged Napoli, 2-1, on Sunday. Pulisic was substituted following the 57th-minute ejection of Ecuadorean Purvis Estupiñán, who surrendered a penalty kick with a foul from behind. Napoli, the reigning Serie A champion, has struggled defensively — seven goals against in the last four games — without Amir Rrahmani (thigh), out since helping the Azzurri complete shutouts in their opening two matches.
Rrahmani, 31, was offered to MLS early in his career, but no takers.
Other updates from US men’s national teamers:
⋅ Weston McKennie replaced Kephren Thuram in the second half as Juventus rallied for a 1-1 tie with Atalanta.
⋅ Tim Weah went 58 minutes as Olympique Marseille, third place in France’s Ligue 1, defeated Strasbourg, 2-1. Weah has yet to score for OM since his transfer from Juventus.
⋅ Tanner Tessman, who has earned eight US caps, scored for Olympique Lyon in a 1-0 victory over Utrecht in the Europa Cup last week and help OL take a 1-0 road win over Lille to remain tied for first with Paris Saint-Germain.
⋅ In the Premier League, Chris Richards led Crystal Palace’s back line in a 2-1 victory over Liverpool, and left back Antonee Robinson, recovering from knee surgery, entered as an 80th-minute sub in Fulham’s 3-1 loss to Aston Villa.
⋅ In Spain’s La Liga, midfielder Johnny Cardoso (ankle) remained out as Atletico Madrid blasted Real Madrid, 5-2, the highest Atleti total against the Merengues since 1950. Canadian national teamers Tajon Buchanan and Tani Oluwaseyi came off the bench to help Villarreal to a 1-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao. Buchanan, who scored 12 times in 67 games for the Revolution from 2019-21, had a hat trick in a 5-0 win over Girona last month.

⋅ In Liga MX, Alex Zendejas, who started his pro career as a 17-year-old with FC Dallas in 2015, converted twice for Club America in a 4-1 victory over Pumas UNAM on Saturday. Zendejas scored two goals as America eliminated the Revolution in last year’s Champions Cup.
Stepping up
Ally Sentnor’s professional career has gone from near-worst to first.
Last year, Sentnor became the first pick in the since-discontinued NWSL player draft, which meant a year and a half performing for the lowly Utah Royals. Recently, Sentnor was acquired by the record-setting Kansas City Current, who were in the midst of a 15-game (13-0-2) unbeaten streak on the way to clinching the Supporters Shield with five games remaining.
Sentnor, from Hansen by way of Tabor Academy, has yet to score in eight appearances for the Current (18-2-2, 56 points), and has totaled four goals in 10 games (five starts) for the US. The Current has an 8-0-2 record (18-1-5 in two years, the only loss to the Orlando Pride) at 11,500-capacity CPKC Stadium, opened last season.
League-leading scorer Temwa Chawinga (14 goals) was stifled in 0-0 results against the Pride and Washington Spirit, last year’s finalists. The Pride back line includes former BU star Kylie Strom Nadaner, who performed briefly for the Boston Breakers before embarking on a successful European career.
