Donald Trump’s journey to London featured a scary near-miss after Air Force Once reportedly came nail-bitingly close to a passenger jet. During the US President’s flight to the UK the plane allegedly nearly collided with a Spirit Airlines passenger over Long Island, US. A traffic controller noticed the planes were travelling at a similar altitude and were en route to hit each other, after he tried to alert the pilot of the passenger jet to change course. Luckily, the planes managed to remain a safe distance away from each other, said to be around a few miles, but a recording of the discussion between the pilots of each plane and the controller has been leaked to social media. Do it now!” with the member seemingly hinting at the other plane belonging to the US President, the Star reported. They added: “The traffic is to the left of your left wing at a distance of six or eight miles. 747. I’m sure you can see who it is.” And in the end, the controller could not resist a harsh remark to the Spirit pilots: “Be careful! Put the iPad down!” The Metropolitan Police are preparing for a significant operation as they anticipate up to 50 protest groups descending on the streets of London in opposition to Donald Trump’s state visit. The force confirmed that over 1,600 officers will be on duty on Wednesday (today) with an additional 500 reinforcements being brought in from other forces. Despite the US President bypassing Parliament, which is currently closed for party conference recess, activists have vowed to rally against what they’ve labelled as “our Government’s choice to honour a man who is violating human rights in the United States and around the world.” READ MORE: Donald Trump UK visit full schedule and where he is each hour on Wednesday Protesters from the Stop Trump Coalition are set to gather in Portland Place in central London on Wednesday afternoon before marching towards Parliament Square. In order to “prevent serious disruption to the community”, restrictions under the Public Order Act have been put in place, with Scotland Yard announcing that the planned demonstration must conclude by 7pm. Road closures will be enforced throughout the duration of the march. Deputy Assistant Commissioner Louise Puddefoot stated: “Around 50 protest groups are expected to gather together in central London on Wednesday, on what will be another busy day for officers.” She added: “We have been in close contact with the organisers to ascertain their intentions, and we have engaged with local businesses and community representatives to understand the impact on them.” The senior officer continued: “We would ask all those taking part in the protest to be considerate to the local community, and ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.
