Donald Trump's sharp words to Melania during tense moment decoded by lip reader

A lip-reading expert has shed light on the heated exchange between Donald Trump and Melania Trump that went viral after being caught on camera. The remarkable footage, which shows the former US President and First Lady in a finger-pointing discussion through the windows of Marine One, was filmed on the South Lawn on Wednesday night, September 24. The video quickly spread across social media, drawing parallels with the memorable moment when Emmanuel Macron was pushed by Brigitte back in May. During the encounter, Trump is seen gesturing at Melania who responds with a shake of her head. Lip-reading specialist Jeremy Freeman has offered his interpretation of the conversation. Jeremy suggests that Trump was discussing the "escalator-gate" incident at the United Nations General Assembly this week, rather than expressing annoyance at something Melania had done, reports the Express . Speaking to the Daily Mail , Jeremy believes Melania said: "You just continued..." To which Trump responded: "It was unbelievable." Melania then retorted: "Just say it and leave it.." Appearing taken aback, Trump replied: "How can you do that..." Not long after, the influential pair disembarked from the helicopter and crossed the lawn hand in hand. The incident involving a faulty escalator at the UN General Assembly in Manhattan , where Trump was greeted, led him to post on Truth Social: "amazing that Melania and I didn't fall forward onto the sharp edges of these steel steps, face first. It was only that we were each holding the handrail tightly or, it would have been a disaster". Earlier this year, after a video of the Macrons went viral showing Brigitte slapping the French President in the face on an aircraft, Trump offered some advice. Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy asked Trump: "There was a video of the First Lady of France slapping her husband, Emmanuel Macron. Do you have any world leader-to-world leader marital advice?" "Make sure the door remains closed," he responded. "That was not good. I spoke to him. He's fine. They're fine. "They're two really good people. I know him very well, and I don't know what that was all about. But I know him very well, and they're fine." A few days ago, John Swinney distanced himself from Trump after the US President faced condemnation over his claims that pregnant women should not take paracetamol. The Republican leader told Americans this week that taking Tylenol - known as paracetamol elsewhere - "is no good" and that pregnant women should "fight like hell" to only take it in cases of extreme fever. He alluded to unproven claims - spread widely by right-wing social media trolls - that mothers taking the drug is one of the reasons for more children being diagnosed with autism. The SNP leader made it clear to reporters in Glasgow later that day that he disagreed with his American ally when it came to making statement on public health. Asked by the Record for his reaction to Trump's paracetamol claims, Swinney said: "The President's comments have no foundation in clinical or scientific evidence. "The Health Secretary, on our part, as well as various other clinical advisers around the world have made it absolutely clear there is no such connection, and the safe use of paracetamol is appropriate during pregnancy."
