The CUC Primary Football League and Girls’ Primary Football League action started on 20 Sept. and several schools have made an early statement in the season with dominant scores. All games during the regular season are subject to the ‘Respect Rule’, meaning scores will only be recorded up to a four-goal differential. Once the team leading by four goals scores again, though the match will continue, any additional goals scored will not count. In group A of the Primary Football League, the St. Ignatius Catholic School under-9 boys triumphed over Cayman International School 9 White with a 3-0 victory, while their under-11s delivered a 4-0 win against Cayman International 11 White. Sir John A. Cumber Primary School 9A and Cayman Prep and High School 9B ended in a 0-0 draw while Island Primary 9A defeated Joanna Clarke Primary School 5-1. In the under-11 division for group A, Sir John A. Cumber Primary defeated Cayman Prep 11B 4-0, Island Primary beat Joanna Clarke Primary 3-1, and Marie Martin Primary School got the better of newcomers Grace Christian Academy with a 4-0 victory. In group B, the eight-time defending under-11 champions Cayman Prep 11A and their under-9 squad both kicked off their seasons with dominant 4-0 victories over Red Bay Primary School. Other group B under-9 games saw Footsteps School defeat Island Primary 9B 5-2, while Prospect Primary School overcame newcomers First Baptist Christian School 4-0. Sir John A. Cumber Primary was awarded a 4-0 forfeit victory over SCM Challengers. In the under-11 division of group B, NorthEast School edged out Footsteps School 3-2, First Baptist downed Prospect Primary 2-1, and Cayman International 11 Blue secured a 4-0 win over Cayman Brac. Group A of the Girls’ Primary Football League division saw St. Ignatius Catholic and Cayman International Girls White settle for a 1-1 draw, while Sir John A. Cumber Primary defeated Cayman Prep GB 4-0. In group B, defending champions Cayman Prep GA was awarded a 4-0 forfeit victory over Red Bay Primary, and NorthEast Schools beat Island Primary 2-0. Games scheduled for 27 Sept. will be played at the Annex Field, Red Bay Primary, Prospect Primary, St. Ignatius Catholic, Camana Bay SC, West Bay Town Hall Field and Theoline L. McCoy Primary School.
