Dolly Parton’s sister clarifies ‘prayer’ requests for country music legend

Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida, clarified a social media post late Tuesday night after she stated she was up all night with the country music icon and needed prayers.
“I want to clear something up,” Freida Parton posted. “I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly.
“She’s been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer.”
Last last month, Dolly Parton, 79, told fans on Instagram that she needed to undergo a “few procedures,” but wouldn’t be quitting the music business any time soon.
“It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister,” Freida posted. “Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference.”
Dolly Parton was scheduled to perform at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Dec. 4, 6, 7, 10, 12, and 13.
It was announced that Tim McGraw will be performing during some of Parton’s dates at Caesars Palace while she recovers.
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” Dolly Parton posted last month. “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.”
