Dolly Parton Opens Up About 'Health Challenges' As She Postpones Vegas Shows

Dolly Parton has announced she’s postponing several live shows that were due to take place in Las Vegas in December for medical reasons.

Posting on Instagram on Sunday night, the I Will Always Love You singer explained that because of some recent “health challenges”, she will undergo “a few procedures” later in the year, requiring her to delay her Vegas shows by almost a year.

“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” she began her statement.

“As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.”

True to form, she then quipped: “As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”

Dolly continued: “In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.

“While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get ‘show ready’, as they say.”

She insisted: “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so l can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.

“I love you and thank you for understanding.”

The country music mega-star then shared that the shows that had been scheduled for December 2025 will now be pushed back to September 2026.

Earlier this year, Dolly announced that her husband of almost 60 years, Carl Dean, had died at the age of 82, six years after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

“I’m at peace that he’s at peace,” she told Knox News in March. “But that don’t keep me from missing and loving him.”
