Some naps just hit different, and internet users can’t get enough of one dog’s adorable bed head after a particularly good snooze.
A video showing the dog’s messy fur after waking from a nap was shared by owner Stefani Victor on his dedicated TikTok account, @leo_thedoodle5. The clip shows Leo, the 5-year-old golden doodle, staring at the camera with a scruffy mane of fur on the top of his head.
The sweet pup had evidently just woken up from a deep sleep as he couldn’t hold back the tired yawns. Victor, who resides in Florida, told Newsweek that Leo had only been asleep “for about 10 minutes,” before he heard a noise but it was definitely worth it.
“As soon as I saw the way his hair was sticking up, I just knew that I had to record the funny moment,” Victor said.

Alongside the adorable clip, the caption jokes that he “only woke up because [he] heard the pantry door opening.”
Indeed, that’s where his dog treats are kept, so he only got up for one thing. Leo happened to look very expectant in the video, clearly expecting a treat for being such a good, sleepy boy.
Since the video was shared on TikTok on September 12, Leo’s “post-nap bed head” has delighted plenty of internet users. The clip has gone viral with more than 299,500 views and over 100,900 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.
“Since posting the clip online, Leo has received such heartwarming comments. Most of the responses talk about how Leo’s bed head makes him look like Max from The Grinch. Others have said that Leo looks lovable, scrungly, and even wise,” Victor continued.
While the specific amount varies depending on breed, age, and lifestyle, most dogs will sleep for around 16 hours per day. Typically, they will get six to eight hours of sleep overnight, followed by four to eight hours throughout the day.
The website PetMD suggests that, in between causing chaos and running rampage, puppies can sleep up to 20 hours per day. That’s because they go through critical growth cycles and plenty of brain and body development occurs when they’re resting.
Additionally, when dogs reach their golden years, they also need a lot of rest every day too. Aging can be tiring for their bodies, and they’re going through new aches, joint pains, and decreased hearing. Rather than causing mischief or being alert all the time, PetMD notes that many senior dogs prefer to spend their time resting in a cozy bed instead.
Internet users certainly can’t get enough of Leo’s messy fur after waking suddenly from his nap, leading to more than 250 comments on the TikTok post already. Many people lauded his disheveled appearance, while others joked about what was going through his sleepy mind at the time.
One comment reads: “Next level bed head.”
Another TikTok user wrote: “You know the nap was great when the hair is standing up.”
Another person added: “It is called beauty sleep for a reason.”
While one commenter joked: “Never missing a snack opportunity!”
