Do It for The Gram

In the age of “pics or it didn’t happen,” dining out isn’t just about flavor, it’s about the full experience. From beautiful interiors and stunning landscapes to popular names and artful dishes, these Instagram-worthy spots serve up delicious bites and aesthetic appeal. Whether you’re curating your feed or just love food, they make every meal camera-worthy. Tucked away at the top of Waikiki Business Plaza, Hide Sushi (2270 Kalakaua Ave.) is a hidden speakeasy omakase spot that’ll have your friends asking exactly where it is. The omakase menu is offered twice a night — 5 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays. The menu changes often, but diners can expect dishes that highlight Hokkaido scallops, bluefin tuna, uni and negitoro. Be sure to snag a pic of the Waikiki skyline as you indulge in beautifully plated sushi dishes. Follow on Instagram at @hide_socialsushibar for reservations. Posting about one of the most talked about restaurants in town is a must, especially when you dine at Bar M00ze (604 Ala Moana Blvd.). Head chef Ki Chung and head bartender Justin Park of Bar Leather Apron collaborate on a monthly omakase dinner that’s pleasant to both the eyes and stomach. With a monthly rotating menu, this restaurant offers diners something new every visit. Find dishes like a wagyu musubi and dungeness crab jook on the November tasting menu. For more information, visit @bar.maze on Instagram. The newest coffee shop to hit town has satisfying drinks and a modern interior that feels like your dream home. everyday (938 Piikoi St.) offers a number of coffee, tea and signature drinks. Try single-origin coffee blends like Ethiopia (flavor notes of melon, strawberry, floral and cocoa) and Guatemala (flavor notes of pecan, mild fresh citrus and a sweet finish). Signature drinks include The everyday, an espresso with a cream top available with ceremonial matcha or organic hojicha, or The cloud — an organic coconut water and espresso with a coconut cream top. Follow @everyday.cg on Instagram for updates. Izakaya Tenkichi Feel like you’re transported to Japan at Izakaya Tenkichi (2334 S. King St. Ste. C), where the Instagramable moments never end. This eatery is known for its tempura, sushi and atemaki dishes, but go for the wasshoi ikura bowl — the energetic Tenkichi team will scoop ikura tableside while chanting, “Wasshoi!” For birthday celebrations, the staff will sing happy birthday to you and take a Polaroid photo of you to post on the restaurant’s wall. Order a few handrolls as well, like negitoro, uni and ikura, or eel tempura. You’ll surely be back for more. Check out @tenkichihawaii on Instagram for a sneak peek of the delicious fun. House Without a Key House Without A Key (2199 Kalia Rd.) delivers picture-perfect views of Diamond Head and a Waikiki at sunset — with no beachgoers blocking your view. And it has a number of dishes that are worth posting about. The Yellow Umbrella cocktail pays homage to the single yellow umbrella at the Halekulani Hotel pool, while the Casa Azul premium margarita flight comes with a classic margarita, smoked watermelon, pineapple salsa and mango. Popular food include the habayaki fries, lawaia roll and brick fire oven pizzas. Be sure to grab a video of former Miss Hawaii’s dancing hula alongside the nightly live music. Visit halekulani.com/dining/house-without-a-key for more details. When a restaurant does something interactive to finish off a dish, it’s only fitting to pull out your phone and record it — and MOSA! (multiple locations) has the interactive part covered. This dessert shop is known for its Taiwanese-style peanut ice cream. Its team scrapes giant peanut brittles — that weigh almost 60 pounds — onto each sweet treat for a crunchy finish. Try the popular MOSA wrap — two to three scoops of ice cream wrapped in a soft crepe before being finished with peanut sprinkle. Or, order one of the MOSA cups, which come in a pink bucket with a mini-shovel for a spoon. Follow @mosavibe on Instagram to see all its sweet treats. Mahina & Suns Post about Mahina & Sun’s (412 Lewers St.) Sip & Shuck Social and you’ll have everyone asking you about this Instagram-worthy happy hour. Located at The SurfJack, this biz offers with $2 oysters and a number of deals on Champagne, beer buckets and dirty martini flights — available from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays. If you’re a martini lover, try one of its Martini Royale cocktails for dinner with a medley of olive caviar. Pair your drink with the crab and saffron risotto, or chicken melanese with arugula, cherry tomatoes, shaved Parmesan and sherry vinaigrette for the ultimate meal.
