Which credit card is best? That’s a rather complex question, since “best” depends entirely on consumers’ spending habits, credit score, and desired rewards. In recent years, co-branded credit cards have grown in popularity. The market for co-branded credit cards was valued at more than $12 billion in 2022 and is expected to reach close to $26 billion by 2030, according to Research and Markets. Co-branded credit cards arise from a partnership between two businesses, helping them increase customer loyalty, diversify revenue sources, and boost awareness with new demographic segments, writes Stripe, a payment service provider. A multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate, The Walt Disney Company (DIS) recognized the benefits of co-branded cards back in 2002, when it announced a strategic alliance with Bank One Corporation (later merged with JPMorgan Chase) and Visa. More cards were added (debit, Premier) and its focus on earnings rewards toward Disney vacations/merchandise was expanded to include unique experience (exclusive photo options, special hotel/club discounts) and limited edition designs.
