Dishevelled Pete Evans shops barefoot

The 52-year-old chef and former My Kitchen Rules host has a fractured relationship with fame, previously detailing how he felt he went from being “celebrated and adored” to being hated by the Australian public. In 2020, he cut ties with Network Seven after over a decade on My Kitchen Rules alongside fellow celebrity chef Manu Feildel. Evans opted to go shirtless for his latest outing, gripping tightly onto a coffee cup with a navy-printed gym bag over his right shoulder. He finished off the look with dyed blonde locks in desperate need of a hair mask and board shorts that clearly haven’t seen the inside of a washing machine for weeks. Evans appeared downcast as he ran his hands through his hair and walked through the streets running errands. It’s been a rough few years for Evans, who has since exited the limelight not entirely by choice. Before 2020, Evans had always been known for his controversial wellness views, but that certainly wasn’t his entire brand. He previously claimed that the hate started after he discovered and began advocating the paleo diet, also known as the caveman diet, based on the idea of eating foods that were available to hunter-gatherers during the Palaeolithic era. “Up until that time, I was celebrated, adored by the Australian media and public until I started talking about paleo, ancestral diets”, he told Dr Cole on his podcast The Art of Being Well. “I was attacked straight away. It was bizarre, I was like, why is this so challenging, triggering, why is this happening, because I started sharing anecdotal stories of people improving their health who had adopted this way of life. The prominent sceptic of Covid-19 vaccines and masks was dropped from his hosting role on the popular Seven reality cooking show in May 2020 over his outspoken views. In November that same year, he was then caught up in further controversy after posting a cartoon on Instagram featuring a Nazi “black sun” symbol. He reportedly lost 15 business partnerships as a result of the post.
