In another twist in the Delhi acid attack case, police are suspecting certain discrepancies in the survivor’s story. The probe is underway; however, no arrests have been made so far in connection with the case. As per the police, the location of the main accused was found to be away from the crime scene. A 22-year-old BCom student at Delhi University alleged an acid attack on her when she was on her way to attend an extra class. As per her statement, the main accused, Jitender, accompanied by two more, Ishan and Arman, threw acid on her from close range. As per a report by PTI, the police raised suspicion about the woman getting off an e-rickshaw 200 metres away from the college. Furthermore, a source claimed that police did not find any acid traces on the wall near the alleged crime spot. Main Accused Was Allegedly Not Present In The Area Investigation has also revealed that Jitender was allegedly not in the area when the alleged attack took place. “So far, his location at the time of the incident does not place him at the crime scene. Multiple angles are being verified. His call detail records (CDR) show him in the Karol Bagh area and not on the crime scene,” an officer was quoted as saying by PTI. Police also said that the CCTV footage around the crime scene also does not locate the main accused nearby. Notably, there was no CCTV camera at the site of the attack. In the case of the other two accused, Ishan and Arman, who are distant relatives of the victim, police have found a previous record of dispute. The victim’s family and brothers’ families are already in a property dispute. Police said that in 2018, a member of the victim’s family had thrown acid at a kin of the brothers. That matter is sub judice.
