The Pickleball World Championships is all set to enthral fans of the sport during this month at the Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas. Also present at the venue will be Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki, who, after enjoying an illustrious career in the NBA, has taken to pickleball. He will be competing in the Celebrity Pickleball Showdown for the second consecutive year as part of this event, and the match will take place at Championship Court at Brookhaven Country Club. Having played 21 seasons with the Mavericks, Nowitzki has won the NBA title in 2011 and was an MVP in 2007. He has made significant contributions to the well-being, health, and education of impoverished children through his foundation, established in 2001. His collaboration with this celebrity pickleball event aims to raise funds for his foundation. The German shared his excitement about participating in this event and said, “I have participated in the last few Pickleball Showdowns, and it is always so much fun. The event continues to improve every year as the national audience for pickleball grows. We are also extremely grateful for the support the PPA is showing our Foundation this year through the raffle proceeds, and encourage everyone to come out and purchase tickets to win some really great items.” Nowitzki will also be joined by ex-tennis pro John Isner, former NFL icon Terrell Owens, and LA Dodgers star J.D. Martinez, among others, in the Celebrity Pickleball Showdown event.
