Dianne Buswell has confirmed whether she will still be doing Strictly Come Dancing 2025 after announcing she is expecting a baby with her partner Joe Sugg.

The couple, who met when they were paired together on the sixteenth series of the BBC dance competition in 2018, announced the news of her pregnancy on social media.

Writing in a caption, the pair said: ‘Our little baby boy ❤️ we cannot wait to meet you,’ before titling the post: ‘2026.’

Since then, numerous celebrities – including Stacey Dooley, Johannes Radebe and Shirley Ballas – have flocked to the comments section to congratulate Strictly professional Dianne, 36, and YouTuber Joe, 34,

But responding to a fan who questioned whether she will be exiting the show after her pregnancy, Dianne has set the record straight.

Reacting to the news of her pregnancy, one fan commented: ‘I am over the moon for you but you won’t be on Strictly Come Dancing then awwwwwww.’

Confirming that Dianne will still be participating in the series, fellow Strictly professional Carlos Gu explained how she ‘planned’ her pregnancy around her schedule.

He wrote: ‘This is the best news I’ve heard this year. I know how much you guys wanted a babe and still remembered how we planned around your schedule Di, makes me giggle. Sending my love to our little boy. X.’

Numerous other professional dancers have also had to take time off to focus on their families as well.

However, Dianne is set to become the first ever professional to still compete while being pregnant.

The news comes just five days before season 23 of Strictly kicks off, where Dianne is expected to be paired up with another celebrity.

According to the NHS, remaining active and fit during pregnancy is ‘not dangerous for your baby’.

Official guidance states: ‘Keep up your normal daily physical activity or exercise (sport, running, yoga, dancing, or even walking to the shops and back) for as long as you feel comfortable.

‘The more active and fit you are during pregnancy, the easier it will be for you to adapt to your changing shape and weight gain. It will also help you to cope with labour.

‘There is evidence that active women are less likely to experience problems in later pregnancy and labour.’

Metro has contacted BBC for comment.

Strictly Come Dancing will begin on September 20 on BBC One.
