Devoted dad dies at 38 as tributes pour in

Tributes have been pouring in for a well-respected farmer, auctioneer and "most devoted dad". John Wynne Davies was at the helm of the family farm and glamping business at Trelan Farm, nestled in the foothills of the Clwydian Range, alongside his wife Catherine. He was also a much-loved auctioneer at J Bradburne Price - where he was "loved and respected" by customers. However, his most cherished role was as a father to his three children, Betrys, eight, Lori, six and four-year-old Ani. It was announced on Friday that he had lost his battle with illness, passing away at the young age of 38, reports North Wales Live . His wife Catherine said: "As a family we've been extremely touched by the outpour of love and support from our community. Wynne thoroughly enjoyed working at J Bradburne Price with James, Susie and the rest of the staff. He was the farmer's friend and treated everybody the same, always friendly and genuine. "Outside of work here at Trelan Farm, Wynne farmed alongside his parents Emyr and Sandra. "Six years ago we diversified the business together and created a glamping site. Wynne worked tirelessly to make it a success and loved meeting the guests and showing them around the farm. "More than anything, Wynne love to spend time with Betrys, Iori and Ani. The most devoted Dad who was so proud of his children. "We always knew how special he was, one in a million, but we have been genuinely touched by all the messages we've received." James Griffiths, from J Bradburne Price, said: "It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and colleague, John Wynne Davies. "Wynne has been an enormous part of the firm for many years, having joined straight after graduating from Harper Adams in 2010, before he went on to qualify as a RICS Chartered Surveyor in 2014 and a Fellow of the Livestock Auctioneers Association in 2017. "Over the years, he became a truly exceptional and hugely popular auctioneer, loved and respected by so many customers. He undoubtedly had a commanding presence on the rostrum. "He also had exceptional knowledge as a land agent and surveyor and this together with his professionalism and integrity, earned him enormous respect throughout the farming community. "Beyond his work, Wynne was an amazing, kind person, deeply devoted to his family. He leaves behind his loving wife, Catherine, children, Betrys, Iori and Ani, dad and mum, Emyr and Sandra, as well as his three sisters and many other family members. "Wynne was a passionate farmer and loved spending time on the farm with his children. He will be missed by so many people, both professionally and personally but he will never be forgotten." Details regarding his funeral arrangements will be released in the coming days.
