Northern Ireland luxury window coverings specialist Mzuri Group is well placed for growth after reporting results covering a resilient financial year amid investment at the BGF-backed business. Mzuri Group employs around 1,400 people, designing, engineering and supplying made-to-measure window coverings. As well as its Lisburn head office, Mzuri Group has facilities across the UK, Europe and the US. It has received £20m of investment from BGF to support its growth plans. In the year to 31 December 2024, turnover at Mzuri fell from £196m to £191m while EBITDA dipped from £15.3m to £11.5m, but the business said this was following a multimillion-pound investment into marketing, advertising and product development. There were also costs associated with two landmark acquisitions in the year, including a Dubai-based business and a job-saving deal for a historic textiles firm in Manchester. Mzuri's directors said the group continued to achieve strong sales during 2024, but gross profit experienced challenges primarily related to inflationary pressures. Following the investment and acquisitions, the firm was said to be well positioned for growth and success in 2025, driven by a "commitment to innovation, sustaınabılity, customer service, and employee support". Jonathan McCluggage, group chief financial officer at Mzuri, said: "Mzuri’s latest results reflect a year of continued strategic investment and acquisition activity aimed at building long-term value for the group. "The group has delivered strong results so far in 2025 and confidence in the long-term success of the business is high." More in Insider
