The Derby store celebrated its grand reopening following the recent completion of a major renovation project.
DERBY, CT — Cingari Family Markets celebrated the grand reopening of a ShopRite grocery store in Derby earlier this month following the recent completion of a major renovation project.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Sept. 22 at the store, located on Pershing Drive, with Mayor Joseph DiMartino and State Rep. Nicole Klarides-Ditria in attendance, according to a store spokesperson.
Tom Cingari Jr., vice president of produce and floral for Cingari Family Markets, said the company was happy to welcome neighbors and local and state officials to the newly enhanced store.
“We’re grateful to our employees and customers for their patience and enthusiasm as we completed the project,” Cingari said to Patch. “Everyone should stop by and see our new marketplace on Pershing Drive.”
The Derby store recently completed a major renovation, transforming it into a modern and customer-focused shopping destination while staying true to the Cingari family’s longtime focus on quality and community, according to additional press materials provided by Cingari Family Markets.
Key improvements to the Derby store include expanded grab-and-go and prepared food options, reimagined floral and produce departments and upgraded specialty departments with enhanced selections, as well as energy-efficient refrigeration, upgraded freezer units and modern lighting.
“We wanted to match the grocery needs of our Derby area customers with a modern, convenient shopping experience,” Cingari said. “That means better food choices, faster meal solutions and deploying more sustainable equipment. It’s part of the Cingari family’s commitment to quality, service and the environment.”
According to Cingari, customers in Derby are already responding to the store’s larger prepared foods selection, as well as the refreshed produce and floral departments.
“Our upgraded bakery, deli and full-service meat counters really make shopping easier,” Cingari said. “We have it all, whether it’s for tasty weeknight meals or those special occasions that need a little something extra.”
He also noted ShopRite has been a long-standing part of the Derby community since 2002, and local leaders have been very supportive throughout the renovation process.
“Derby is a tight-knit, community-minded town with families and longtime shoppers who appreciate fresh, locally influenced food,” Cingari said. “This is exactly the kind of neighborhood where a market like ours can thrive by adding friendly, personalized touches customers appreciate…we’re proud to continue serving this great community.”
